Praising God in all situations
Overall we had a great time this weekend. Our mini holiday up the coast had been perfect until our trip back down. It was raining, we were going 110km/hr along the freeway when we had to come to a sudden and abrupt halt. We were momentarily thanking God that our car had stopped in time without hitting the car in front of us when I could hear a car behind us screeching as it was trying to stop, then finally side-swiping our car. That car (which had a trailer on the back of it) then continued on and hit another car before it came to a screeching halt. Behind us a 24 seater bus hit the car in front of that, another car narrowly missed hitting us. All in all, we were stuck in a 10-12 car pile up! Certainly a first for me. The F3 was at a standstill. The damage on my friend's parents' car looks pretty minor but will need some panel beating. No one was hurt. If we had driven any of our own cars, we believe the car would not have been able to respond so well, and the damage would've been much worse. One of our own cars would have hit the car in front of us, and we would've been at fault. Praise God that we drove the car that we did, and that no one in the pile up was seriously hurt - many people were just a bit shaken up. I just feel really bad that I asked my friend to drive her car so that we could share the driving (my car's a manual and she can't drive manual), but then she ended up asking her parents if she could borrow their car for the trip as it was more reliable than her car (that's now been proven!!!). So now, because of me, her parents' car has been damaged, and they are going to be inconvenienced when it gets fixed.
