R & R

I had such a relaxing day today, there was not a single cloud in the sky, and it wasn't too hot and sticky...perfect beach weather! Nomes and I had decided we would go to the beach the next time we met up instead of just hanging at a cafe having lunch. Today was just perfect beach and fish and chips weather!

We ended up at the Royal National Park at Wottamalla (?spelling...I'll have to check on a map - bad short term gold fish memory in old age...) which is where we had Nomes' Doe's Day Picnic before she got married, listening to Michael Card almost all the way. But, instead of at the beach, we took a little walk along a track to where it was lagoon-river and where there was not a single other person in sight. It was so peaceful! It also meant that the water there isn't as salty as the water at the beach. The water was so shallow it only reached our thighs, so we waded across with our backpacks (it felt like we were on safari or something!) and sunbaked on a flattish rock. It was heaven!! We couldn't have asked for anything more...except a hat, maybe...oh well, next time!

Then, right after coming home from the RNP, I drove up to Epping to visit some friends who had a baby 3 months ago. Very cute Benjamin is!

I also picked up those photos I left for processing. I'll have to give them to AK soon to scan in to his page, where most of the rest of my birthday photos are. Standby...

What a great day...back to work tomorrow. But maybe the rest of the week will stay this good.
