Craziness
I can't believe how much craziness can fit into one work day. The ED was bursting at the seams all night but still ambulances kept bringing them in, from all areas of Sydney, even though we were just as shut as anyone else. Figure that out. It didn't get any better. In the end, it didn't matter what state the hospital was in, as many of us dropped what we were doing, piled into many cars and convoyed down to the local Catholic Church to farewell one of our own. One by one, we arrived back at work, blotchy eyed, only then to jump straight back into the swing of the day as if nothing was out of the ordinary. On top of that, I've got a sore throat, and am coming down with the flu. Not happy.
