The Weekend Highlight...The Journey

Whilst church politics ran rife yesterday morning at my home church, my baby sister was being baptised at the church she's been going to for over a year. It was a most awesome, encouraging , joyous and emotional service, with eight teens in the church either being baptised or confirmed. Being a smaller church, the feel was completely different to baptism services at our church. It was definitely more personal and therefore felt more meaningful. It was such a momentous occasion that the youth leaders got together and wrote a song just for these guys...Awwwww. And here it is:

The Journey
Looking at the journey that you've travelled,
Seeing all the ways you've changed and grown,
Knowing that it's God who shapes and moulds you
To be like Christ and to be called his own.
And as His child you'll never be alone.

Chorus
Now you stand here today in the choice that you have made,
Now you stand by believing in His word.
Now you stand in Christ, you're free,
Stand for all the world to see
That by the cross the victory's already won,
As we wait for when Christ again will come,
We will stand together till the journey's done.

We trust that God will continue to guide you
Through the journey that is still ahead,
And when the trials and struggles come before you,
Stand firm in Christ who is your Lord and friend.
For by His grace you're always in His hands.

It was so emotional that Chester burst into tears in the middle of singing it with the rest of the leaders! =)
